Kosovo Customs has announced that it has destroyed over 6,000 t-shirts, which were found to infringe upon intellectual property rights.
The case began on 02.06.2026, when a shipment of goods was presented for customs clearance at the Customs Terminal in Mitrovica, without specifying the trademark of the products.
Based on risk analysis, the shipment was selected for physical and documentary inspection. During the inspection, customs officials identified elements that raised suspicions of intellectual property rights violations. After verifications, the Intellectual Property Rights Protection Sector at Kosovo Customs contacted the rights holder, who confirmed that the products constituted an infringement of protected rights.
Based on this finding, Customs announced that it had taken legal measures, stopping the release of the goods, initiating customs misdemeanor proceedings against the importer, and starting the procedure for the fdfdsfdestruction of the products.
Customs announced that on 08.07.2026, the goods were destroyed under its supervision, with the aim of preventing them from circulating in the Kosovo market.
“The actions were taken in implementation of the Law on Customs Measures for the Protection of Intellectual Property Rights, as well as the relevant provisions of the Kosovo Customs and Excise Code,” states the Customs announcement dated 09.07.2026.
